Pop princess Kylie Minogue received an award at Buckingham Palace on Thursday from Prince Charles.The 40-year-old singer, wearing a white dress decked with multicolored sequin stars, smiled as Prince Charles presented her with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to music.
Queen Elizabeth announced that she would be receiving the award in December.
Although Minogue is Australian, she can receive the full award because Australia is part of the British Commonwealth.
The singer is relatively unknown in the United States except for her 1987 hit "Locomotion." She has released nine studio albums, and has sold over 60 million records worldwide during her 20-year career.
She holds the record for the most-played female artist on UK radio in the past 20 years, according to her Web site.
