Quiet New Years Eve For Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson will spend Tomorrow eating pizza and watching ‘The Twilight Zone’ on Syfy.

The 25-year-old actress – who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds – will see in 2010 with a take away, champagne and a marathon viewing session of the cult show because of work commitments.

She said: “We’re both working on New Year’s Day anyway. So, we won’t do much. You know, pizza would be nice, a little champagne. Maybe watch the ‘Twilight Zone’ marathon. That’s always a favourite for me.”

The screen beauty is “over” big celebratory parties and much prefers a quiet night in these days.

She laughed: “Going from one party to the next and surfing to find the right thing, and being in a taxicab when the clock strikes — I’m so over that stuff. At the ripe old age of 25. I have the most fun when I’m surrounded by people I love in one place that’s comfortable and we can hear each other. You can play card games, watch movies, I’m happy.”

Scarlett's Tissue Sells For 5K!

A winning big of $5,3000 scored a lucky guy or girl the remnants of a tissue used by a cold-stricken Johansson when she appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' a week ago. The 'Spirit' starlet joked that since she caught the cold from her co-star Samuel L. Jackson, the tissue was valuable, and agreed to put it on eBay. All of the proceeds from the sale of the tissue will go to benefit USA Harvest. The initial bid on the tissue was $.99, and 82 bids later, the tally topped $5,000. Would you ever buy a celebrity's used tissue?

Scarlet Johansson vs. Lindsay Lohan: It's ON!

Never knew that these two even knew of one another, let alone were in a feud, but...

US Magazine reports that Scarlett Johansson doesn't know why Lindsay Lohan doesn't like her.

"I really don’t know that person. I only met her, like, three times," says the actress, 23, who lost the lead role in The Parent Trap to Lohan when she was 13. (And, clearly, ScarJo is all the worse for it...[/sarcasm])

Lohan famously scrawled vulgar words about the actress on a Big Apple bathroom stall 2½ years ago. (Hint: The word rhymed with "runt").

"That's what I heard," Johansson says of the incident. "I don’t know what the motivation was behind that. I remember it was something really vulgar — I mean, shockingly so, like, 'Whoa, what, who are you?'"

Not everyone in Hollywood has a beef with the actress. Woody Allen once called Scarlet his muse (which, we'll remember, is what he also called Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow, and we see how well THOSE turned out...).

But the Vicky Cristina Barcelona star said, "I don't inspire that work that Woody does. I'm just lucky to fit into the 'young woman' category in his movies. But make no mistake, I know that if it wasn't me, it would be someone else."

Another Johansson fan? Katy Perry, who penned the tune "I Kissed a Girl" after her.

"I had no idea [about the song] -- I should get a cut!" she says. "That's flattering, but my lips are kind of taken."

Asked how she met husband Ryan Reynolds (whom she began dating last year), she says, "Nobody knows. It's private. It's our story."

Scarlett Johansson delays wedding date for US Election

Scarlett Johansson is said to have pushed back her wedding date – because of the US presidential election.

The actress, 23, is due to marry fiancé Ryan Reynolds, 31, later this year.

But she's apparently put the plans on hold because her twin brother Hunter is busy working on Barack Obama's campaign.

‘Ryan has been wanting to marry Scarlett for some time and was thrilled when they got engaged in May,’ a source tells the Daily Express.

‘He’d marry her if he could tomorrow if he could but Scarlett’s twin Hunter is really busy working on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

'He’s working all the time so Scarlett wants to hold off until the election is over.’
Barack, 47, is taking on Senator John McCain in the election in November.

Scarlett Johansson's acting struggle

Scarlett Johansson thinks acting is "harder for women".

The 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' actress - who stars alongside Penelope Cruz in Woody Allen's new film - believes succeeding in the "vain" movie industry is more difficult if you are female.

She said: "Acting is definitely harder for women. Women kind of wilt as men sort of achieve as they get older, like wine or whatever. It's like, 'Oh, she's past her prime and she can't play a sex symbol.' It's just a preconceived notion about women in general and particularly in this industry. It's a very vain, vain industry."

Scarlett - who released her debut solo album 'Anywhere I Lay My Head' earlier this year - also revealed her plans for the future.

She added to Britain's Hello! magazine: "I would love to do another album. It was fantastic to not only live with that music that I love every day but to work with such wonderful musicians. It's like a whole little creative commune we had.

"Right now, I would like to focus on developing something to direct. I have wanted to direct since I was 12. I remember making 'The Horse Whisperer' and thinking, 'I want that guy's job!'"

Scarlet Johansson doesn’t think she is stunningly attractive

But the actress doesn't think of herself as beautiful

Scarlett Johansson doesn’t think she is stunningly attractive – but reckons she is sexy.

The actress says she has a lot of help to look glamorous for her film roles.

‘My hair and make-up artists spend hours upon hours plastering things on me to make me look sexier,’ she says.

‘I think that it's rare that you feel beautiful. I never look at myself in the mirror and say: “I look really beautiful,” [but] I look at myself in the mirror and say: “Yeah, I look hot."’

Scarlett, 23, who is engaged to actor Ryan Reynolds, 31, also fears her career will falter when she loses her looks.

‘Women kind of wilt as men sort of achieve as they get older, like wine or whatever,’ she tells the Daily Telegraph. ‘It's like: “Oh, she's past her prime and she can't play a sex symbol.”

'It's a preconceived notion about women in general and particularly in this industry. It's a very, very vain industry.’

Scarlett Johansson: Penelope Cruz snog wasn't sexy

Pair smooched in front of men eating sandwiches

Scarlett Johansson says her screen kiss with Penelope Cruz wasn't anything special.

The pair lock lips in new Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

But Scarlett, 23, says the smooch was a bit of an ordeal.

‘There were 60 crewmen eating salami sandwiches,’ she says. ‘It's really the least sexy thing you can ever imagine.’

And Penelope, 34, agrees with her co-star.

‘Scarlett and I have been asked that question a thousand times, and we are sorry that we don't have any funny stories to tell you about it,’ she tells the Daily Mirror.

‘The set was very crowded that day.’

Scarlett Johansson “Embarrassed” By Obama Email Relationship

Scarlett Johansson does not have a crush on presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Johansson, a vocal supporter of Obama, told the website Politico.com in June that she and the Democratic presidential hopeful had been trading e-mails.

Following her confession, she found herself defending reports there was something more going on with Obama.

“It seemed to me to be like a product of extreme sexism, and I kept thinking to myself, ‘God, if this was just, like, Kal Penn or George Clooney or any of the other (Obama) surrogates or supporters ... there wouldn’t be (any) question about it. Nobody would even talk about it,” she said Tuesday at a press conference while promoting her new woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Making the situation even more embarrassing, Obama later told reporters that Johansson doesn’t have his personal email address, and that his assistant forwarded one message from Johansson to which he replied.

The 23-year-old actress added at the conference, “I was merely trying to express my delight at Obama’s commitment to his campaign in every aspect and his interest and his support (in) his surrogates and his staff and his fellows, and how wonderful and refreshing that is. And it was manipulated into such an unfortunate media frenzy of kind of a nonstory.”

Johansson will star in the upcoming Woody Allen film, which features her much-hyped kiss with Penelope Cruz.
