Amy Winehouse sings, sips onstage

Amy Winehouse performed at the Rock in Rio music festival southeast of Madrid on Friday.

Tens of thousands of people cheered for her performance of "Rehab," which she sang while sipping from a glass of red wine.

Although Winehouse appeared a little bit unsteady on her feet, her singing was strong and, fortunately, without the controversy of her recent appearance at the Glastonbury festival where she threw punches at a fan.

Winehouse did not stay for an encore and left the venue via helicopter.

Her manager, Michael Jobson, told national broadcaster RTVE that his client had been looking forward to the performance for awhile.

Organizers said they expected around 350,000 attendees by the end of the festival. Other performers include headliner Shakira, Bob Dylan, Franz Ferdinand, Jamiroquai, Lenny Kravitz and The Police.
