Jessica Simpson is a girly girl—and now she’s got the dresses to prove it.
The singer and actress is taking her Southern belle style to market with the launch of her self-titled clothing line.
She told Women’s Wear Daily, “I’m extremely excited to be expanding into the dress market. I plan on creating beautiful dresses in distinctive fabrics and silhouettes that are reflective of my personal style and offer something special to the marketplace.”
The Dukes of Hazard star entered a deal with G-III Apparel Ltd to produce a collection of “contemporary dresses”, which will launch for spring/summer 2009.
Simpson told the magazine last month that she would expand her shoe and purse line with lingerie.
The country girl said of her intimates, “I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that’s the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood.”
The new undie venture is also supposed to launch next spring.
