In his first major posthumous award, Heath Ledger took home the Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his role of the Joker in The Dark Knight.Director Christopher Nolan accepted the award on behalf of Ledger. As his name was announced the entire audience stood to pay their respect to the late actor. A clip was played from The Dark Knight, and Nolan said a few words about Ledger.
